Updating My Front Door

Minor changes sometimes make the biggest impacts. When updating my house, I have updated my exterior (while struggling with my interior). Choosing a new paint color was tough but ultimately the decision was made and I’m in love.

Through my decor book club, I was given the inspiration to update my front-door color to a high-gloss black. I LOVED it and I wanted the world to see it. Problem was I had a white-framed glass door in front of it. I’m not really into storm doors so we decided to remove it!

What Window Covering Goes Here? Front Door Decor

As part of our deco book club, I am sprucing up the entryway into my house. It is a smaller room that holds a half bath, a matching bench & cubby/shelf, a large window, a set of stairs and a door that is there for no good reason really. I think I’ve done the best with what the room has to offer me (unless I crack open the wall where the bench/cubby are located and reveal a covered hearth...). But the one thing that irks me beyond all is my front door.

Don’t get me wrong, my front door is a beautifully carved, solid-wood (no idea what wood) door that has been painted a not-my-favorite-shade yellow. I don’t really even mind the storm door in front of it; ok, I’m kidding, I do mind it but I’m not sure if I can get rid of it. Beyond that, it is my big ol’ window that is in my front door that has me scratching my head. It is so beautiful and lends the perfect amount of light into the entryway. What I do not love is the covering on the window. It’s this cheap, gauzy fabric with small rods at the top and bottom of the window. So not me!
