2012/2013 Autumn/Winter Color Trends Preview

While in London on BlogTour, we had the opportunity to sit in on a talk about the 2012/2013 Autumn/Winter color trends as chosen by Mix Magazine at 100% Design. Mix Magazine is a UK-based color, design & trend magazine that sets the industry colors for automotive, textile, retail and fashion. I have always wondered WHO chose the “it” colors of the season and how they were chosen and finally the answer presented itself during this talk by the trend consultant & North American representative of Mix Magazine, Mark Woodman.

Mark Woodman of Mix Magazine

The colors for Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 (I KNOW, we’re only in 2011; these people work WAY in advance) are focused on blues, golds, caramels, burnt reds and oranges. There are tons of shades in each category of each of these colors and it was fascinating to learn that the U.S, Europe and Asia all have their different takes on each shade (some continents like a pinker red or an grayer blue).
