Creating a Custom Bed Cushion For the Kids

My upstairs has three bedrooms: the master, the children’s and the nursery. Since my youngest daughter is no longer a baby, we have turned what once was the nursery into the children’s library. The room has long been a favorite of the children’s due to the ample amount of light, the soft carpet (the only room in the house with it) and the proximity to our bedroom and bathroom.

We have several bookcases in the room, along with toy bins that slide into the shelves. Up until a week ago, we had two overstuffed Pottery Barn Kids Anywhere chairs that I had seen enough of and sold on a local community Facebook yard sale group (it’s the BEST idea ever and I highly recommend it). I also had purchased a cast-iron bed frame while at Brimfield that was to go in the room in their place.

Brimfield Tweetup & VIP Tent

Last week we found ourselves in Brimfield, MA, for the Brimfield Antique Fair, one of the largest outdoor antique shows in the world. We first found out about the fair from one of our Twitter friends, Cynthia Bogart of The Daily Basics. We longingly wanted to join her at her tweetup event that was held during the show last fall but we had too many other commitments at the time. So we made sure to add it to our to-do list for this spring.

Brimfield Antiques Show - May 2012

The Brimfield Antique and Collectibles Show is the (self-proclaimed) largest, outdoor, antiques show in the world. It is held in Brimfield, MA, three times per year usually around Memorial Day, Independence Day and Labor Day. It attracts more than 130,000 people per show who come and buy almost anything you can dream of as sold by 6,000 dealers. The show began in the 1950’s and has garnered a cult-like following among decorators, collectors, celebrities and more!
