We love a good find and while we were at the Architectural Digest Home show this year, we spotted a couple of really cool and innovative companies that you must know about. One of our collective interest is wallcoverings. The beauty and customization that can be brought into your home via wallcoverings has far surpassed that of the Laura Ashley florals and grasscloth days of the 70s and 80s.

One such company that has a foothole in innovative wallcoverings is California-based Astek Inc. Their booth at the AD Home Show stood out and sparkled with a variety of splendid colors, patterns and materials. There is the customization that is endless due to their digital printing and creative design process. We nabbed a couple of minutes with their creative director, Sarah LaVoie, to find out more about Astek and how designers and homeowners can create their unique wall coverings in less than a week.

Sea Green Accents from the Architectural Digest Home Show

The Architectural Digest Home Show is one of the best places to just sit back and let inspiration wash over you. As you pass through the rows upon rows of booths, the vendors bring their “A Game” and show off some of the most lovely and irresistible objects for home interiors.

As we walked through the show there was an overwhelming color theme, especially when married with wooden furniture: sea green. This pale blue/green, when partnered with white, has the opportunity to bring a sense of serenity and calm to a space. As we all see pops of neon being infused into interiors, these whites and sea greens are a nice balance to the excitement and electricity of today’s hottest, color pieces.

BlogTourNYC is Almost Here!

It’s BlogTour time, baby! This time we are not headed overseas to London but the fantastic London blogging crew is headed stateside for a five-day excursion in NYC!! Architectural Digest Home Design Show

This weekend, I spent a day at the Architectural Digest Home Show checking out the exhibits from almost 300 home design brands. In addition, I was able to see the DIFFA Dining by Design presentation, where designers and brands created amazing, beautiful and sometimes fanciful tabletop installations. While there were many things that day that caught my eye, I thought I'd share some of my favorites here with you.
