Annie's Bedroom: Teenage Dream

As you know, I spent the better part of my summer visiting family in the South. One of the wonderful places I visited was Jackson, MS, where I lived during high school and also where my aunts, uncles and cousins still live. One of my cousins is a gorgeous young lady (both inside and out) who is a sophomore in high school. She has one of the best teen girl bedrooms ever and so she was sweet enough to let me come in a share it with all of you!

Annie's mom consulted with a designer, Charlotte McCart of the Custom House in Ridgeland, MS, to design her bedroom. Charlotte is one talented lady who not only creates a concept but also custom builds furniture, creates paintings and draperies as well as bedding!

What I LOVE about Annie's bedroom are the fun colors as well as the ease at which everything is put together. My girls (whom are much younger) could spend HOURS in this room and often do! So let's check it out!

View of room from door. Bright colors abound!

The bulletin board was custom made by Lola Blue. The ottomans were made by Charlotte McCart. The armoire was made in Starr, MS, by a local woodworker and restained by Charlotte McCart.

It's always so fun to see a teen's bulletin board full of pics, stubs, signs and notes that remind of us of when we were young.

The curtains were custom made by Charlotte McCart.

Every teen needs a desk. Annie's desk serves so many functions: jewelry keeper, paper stasher, memorabilia display and MOST ADORABLE CHAIR EVER home base.

Speaking of the chair, it is from Anthropologie

The beds were custom built and have ample storage below them. The pillows were custom made by Charlotte McCart. The duvet covers are from Pottery Barn. The paintings were done by Easely Amused as well as Annie. This happens to be Annie's favorite spot in her room: her bed!

As I was taught in school, every room has to have a central source/inspiration. The "a" painting is just that! All of the colors and patterns in the room come from this painting custom made by Charlotte McCart.

I just love this room and all of the thought and energy put behind each of the items in it makes it that unique and special. I hope that when my girls are teens, they will have such a fabulous lair!
