Updating My Front Door

Minor changes sometimes make the biggest impacts. When updating my house, I have updated my exterior (while struggling with my interior). Choosing a new paint color was tough but ultimately the decision was made and I’m in love.

Through my decor book club, I was given the inspiration to update my front-door color to a high-gloss black. I LOVED it and I wanted the world to see it. Problem was I had a white-framed glass door in front of it. I’m not really into storm doors so we decided to remove it!

Before with the white storm, glass door. It was totally cramping my style.

Removal was quite easy and when we put out the door for bulk pickup, it was hauled away by another person before the trash trucks came to pick it up!

Et voila! What do you think? Totally makes the front door more inviting and sassy (two things that I was going for). And yes, in keeping with best design practices, my interiors will coordinate. The rule I was taught is the front door needs to be the darkest shade of my primary interior color. And it will be! Things are a brewing inside...

Love your door and the gloss black paint. What paint brand did you use?
