Glynallyn Mansion, The Renovated Interiors (Part 2)

Today we wrap up our coverage of the amazing and regal American castle, Glynallyn, located in Morristown, NJ. Glynallyn is the featured designer showcase home of the Woman's Association of Morristown Medical Center. It is open during the month of May and it is a MUST SEE for anyone in the area.

A big thank you to the volunteers who have made this showhouse come together as well as all of the creative and outstanding designers and architects who created such fun, whimsical, beautiful and interesting designs. This group of 50+ creatives remade what was an abandoned piece of history into a magnificent specimen of American architecture (PS- it’s for sale too!).

And for our final rooms that stood out from the rest-

Lady Allen’s Bower by Creative Wallcoverings & Interiors, Ltd.
This small office room is placed strategically between the dining room and the kitchen and is intended to be the lady of the house’s personal study and office. The room’s varying shades of mocha brown accented with lemon yellow and the architectural details and warmth of the upholstered walls add a modern day elegance. The ceiling is a delight as it is covered with Phillip Jeffries grass cloth in a metallic hue.

Take Five by British Home Emporium
What is to be designated as the “man cave” of the house is filled with the colors of jazz and the materials- leathers, velvets, zebra prints and menswear textiles- set the mood. The room features high ceilings, stained glass and hand-carved wood and is modernized with state of the art electronics and a custom-made pine desk filled with treasures from near and far. The fully renovated bathroom features a light grey lacquered vanity with granite top.

Northern Light by Curren Design Associates, Inc.
The feeling of lightness is apparent from the moment you step foot in this room. The Scandinavian style aims to bring as much lightness into the room as possible and creates a restful oasis. The multiple reflective surfaces and the palette of pale, lustrous colors are paired with contemporary fabrics, lacquered furniture and gloss to give this room glow.

La Petite Suite by Maria Bevill Interiors
Comfort meets style in this guest suite designed with opulent fabrics, soft leathers and textured solids. Harmonizing of classic contemporary and elegant French styles by using a serene palette of azure blue, taupe, and gray add to the luxurious ambiance, it is a suite that is inviting and comfortable.

The Single’s Suite by Fun House Furnishings & Design
Pointillist painting style wallpaper coupled with the red, teal and dark wood furniture all create a sophisticated guest room. The Libretto style chairs and ottoman flank a teal tiled fireplace and are grounded by the light colored rug. This is one guest room that exudes style and comfort no matter what your gender.

We have created a gallery of all of our images from Glynallyn. Please check it out as there are many more that we didn’t include in our posts! Also if you are looking for historical images of the house, its grounds and former owners, check out the Mansion in May's Flickr stream.

For our past coverage of Glynallyn, check out the before pictures of the interior as well as the renovated gardens and a look at some more renovated interior rooms. You can see our full collection of images in our Glynallyn gallery.
