One Little Word | Captured, Week 6
Sunday, February 6, 2011 It's been a bit of a slow week, one-little-word-wise. So I thought I'd draw from my (not so vast) archives for this week's image for the One Little Word | Captured photo challenge.

I had the pleasure of taking Kim Klassen's Skinny Mini Photoshop e-Course last month. I had previously only used Photoshop for minor corrections for lighting and color in my photographs. This workshop really opened my eyes to the more creative and artistic uses of the application. It introduced me to the use of blending layers and textures and text. This image is from one of our homework assignments and I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.
I can appreciate the whole images + text thing (as demonstrated so well in this post by Hillary over at eyechai and regularly by Georgia over at it's just how i see things). It's just that I have a hard time creating it myself.
So I like this initial attempt. It's modest. A small step. But, it's new for me and so I'll call that PROGRESS.

It's beautiful and I love the bokeh. I truly enjoyed Kim's skinny mini course. I'm hoping to take another one of her classes sometime this year.
Lovely shot...I am taking a course with Kim starting next week - can't wait for it to start!! :)
